METIS aims to future-proof medical education by forging competence in AI, VR, and simulations to strengthen digital readiness, ethical awareness, and social resilience among students and staff.
The project’s aim is two-fold: a) develop and validate the METIS toolkit for technologically-advanced and society-oriented medical education, and b) stimulate innovation and entrepreneurship in students through challenge-based learning and co-creation of a prototype for a future master’s in medicine at UNILU.
METIS fosters innovation in medical education through online lectures and workshops, a hackathon, and a winter school that aim to strengthen creativity, digital literacy, and interdisciplinary thinking. Through these activities, it addresses the social dimension of medical education, including the ethical use of AI, to ensure future health professionals are technologically competent and socially responsible.
