University of Agder

The University of Agder (UiA) is a young and dynamic public university in Norway, officially established in 2007 but with roots dating back to the 1960s. It is one of the country’s most modern universities, known for combining high academic standards with close collaboration with society and industry. UiA operates two campuses, in Kristiansand and Grimstad, and serves around 14,000 students across bachelor, master, and doctoral programmes, supported by more than 1,500 staff members (academic and administrative). The university’s ambition is to be a driving force for innovation and sustainable development in both regional and international contexts.

The university is strongly oriented towards interdisciplinarity and internationalisation, with over 200 partner institutions worldwide and active participation in EU-funded projects. Its research activity addresses both local needs and global challenges, particularly in digital transformation, sustainability, health, and social innovation.
